4K vs 1080p vs 8K Viewing Distance
Resolution changes when pixel structure may become visible. Viewing angle controls how large and immersive the picture feels. These are separate limits.
| 1080p | Pixel structure becomes noticeable sooner on large screens. |
| 4K | Supports closer seating at common 55–85\" sizes while preserving detail. |
| 8K | Can reduce pixel visibility further, but source quality, size and eyesight limit the practical benefit. |
Do not choose by pixels alone. A sharp image can still feel uncomfortable if it fills too much of your field of view. Start near 40° for immersion or 30° for mixed use, then adjust for subtitles, gaming HUDs and motion comfort.
